Ron’s journey in the trade began at an early age, learning from his father—a master carpenter who emigrated from the Netherlands to Australia. Growing up in the workshop, he developed a deep passion for fine craftsmanship and quality workmanship. Over the years, he has worked extensively in residential construction and commercial fit-outs, specializing in high-end, custom joinery.

As General Manager and Co-Founder, Maike Smith brings extensive experience in business management and customer experience. She ensures seamless project execution, managing client relationships and delivering projects on time, every time.

Fueled by their shared commitment to excellence, design innovation, and a love for timber craftsmanship, Ron and Maike founded Holz Projects—now Holz Kitchens & Joinery—in 2020.
